Te Anau
🌿 About this place
Te Anau is the gateway to Fiordland National Park, the largest national park in New Zealand and a UNESCO World Heritage Area. Located on the shores of Lake Te Anau, it is the main base for exploring some of the country's most spectacular landscapes, including Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound and several of New Zealand's Great Walks.
Despite its importance as a travel hub, Te Anau remains a peaceful lakeside town surrounded by mountains, forests and crystal-clear waters. It offers a slower pace and a strong connection to nature.
