LOCAL ARTISTS, LOCAL STORIES
NZ Travel Passport is inviting artists from across Aotearoa New Zealand to create original sticker artwork inspired by 32 destinations around the country.
Every selected design will become part of our Local Artist Series. The artist will be credited directly on the sticker, featured on our website and social media, and receive royalties from their selected design.
Each destination deserves to be represented by someone who understands its landscape, culture and character. This is your opportunity to show New Zealand through your own artistic style.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for original artwork that captures the landscape, culture, personality or story of a destination featured in the NZ Travel Passport.
Each artist is welcome to work in their own style, from illustration and painting to digital art, linework, collage or mixed media.
STICKER GUIDELINES
• The finished sticker will measure approximately 4 × 4 cm.
• Colorful designs are the best
• The design must remain clear, recognizable and visually strong when reduced to this size.
• Avoid relying on very small details or extremely thin lines that may disappear when printed.
• The destination name must be large, visible and easy to read as part of the artwork.
• Where appropriate, we encourage the use of the destination’s Māori name. Please ensure all Māori words and macrons are written accurately.
• The design should include a recognisable element connected to the destination, such as its landscape, wildlife, architecture, culture or local character.
• Artists may include their signature, name, website or Instagram handle directly within the sticker design.
• The artist’s signature or Instagram handle should remain visible without competing with the destination name or main artwork.
• All artwork must be original and created by the submitting artist.
• Please do not include copyrighted characters, unlicensed logos or third-party artwork.
• Selected artwork may be adjusted slightly to meet printing, cutting and sizing requirements.

Choose one of the 32 official NZ Travel Passport destinations below and create an original sticker inspired by that place.
You may interpret the destination through its landscape, wildlife, architecture, culture, history or local character. Where appropriate, we encourage artists to include the Māori name of the destination, written accurately with the correct macrons.

We want each sticker to be shaped by people who genuinely know and care about the place they are representing.
If you live in, grew up in or have a strong personal connection to one of our destinations, we especially encourage you to create artwork for that place. Local perspectives and stories will receive special consideration.
